Objectives
In this section you will learn about the fluid property surface tension. Surface tension occurs whenever there is an interface between a liquid, a solid or a gas. Surface tension of water is an important property in situations where small volumes of liquid occur, or the liquid is in contact with small diameter tubes or porous media. Examples of when this occurss in agriculture are when liquid spray equipment is used, or when water infiltrates into a soil.
After studying these materials you are expected to:

3) Describe the causes the surface tension.
4) Describe in your own words the effects of temperature on surface tension.
